Erie Bike Co-op
The SSJNN Bike Program is becoming the Erie Bicycle Cooperative! We’re all about more people on bikes, and we welcome your input, ideas, and participation.
If you like what we’re doing and would like to support us: Volunteering at the shop, donating bicycles or dollars, and attending our classes and events are all much appreciated.
Mission
The EBC’s mission is to make bicycle transportation accessible to all people by:
Providing low-cost and free refurbished bicycles to children and adults.
Offering education and mechanical support in bicycle repair and maintenance.
Building and supporting a mutually sustaining community of cyclists through safety workshops, group rides, and bicycle centered events.

🚲 Do you sell or give away bikes?
Yes, our goal is to make quality used bikes accessible to anyone needed reliable transportation. As we figure out how to sustain this project into the future, we’re developing a pricing system that keeps our doors open.
We currently offer fully repaired mid-range bikes priced at $45, three volunteer hours, or a combination of hours and dollars.
Our earn-a-bike program is a great way to receive a bike at zero cost while spending a couple hours learning to fix it up yourself.
Kid’s bikes are always free and offered (with fittings and helmets) at our regular kid’s bike giveaway events.
Our shop bikes are high quality and specialty bikes priced at half of their current value, ranging from $80-$450 with most between $100-200.
If you need a bike, stop by during open hours to see what’s available.
🧰 Do you offer bike repairs?
Yes — our mechanics provide basic repairs on a donation basis. We also encourage people to learn how to fix their own bikes with our tools and support. In 2026, we aim to offer basic repair classes like Fix a Flat and Bike Maintenance 101.
🔧 Can I volunteer to help at the bike shop?
We’re a volunteer-run project, whether you have bike mechanic skills or not. Stop by during open hours or email garrett@eriebikecoop.com to find out more.
🚴♂️ Do you accept bike donations?
Yes — we gratefully accept all used bikes. You can drop off bikes during open hours, or make a donation appointment by emailing us.
💡 Can I drop off parts, like training wheels or accessories?
Yes! During open hours.
🚲 Do you have bikes for kids or specific sizes?
We receive a variety of bikes, including children’s bikes, mountain bikes, cruisers, and road bikes.
Our stock changes all the time, so the best way to check is to visit in person. “Project bikes”
needing basic repairs are always available, but fully repaired bikes are in high demand so check back often.
We offer kid’s bikes at no-cost ONLY at our Kid’s Bike Giveaway. Check this site/social media for each month’s
event details!
